Adult Programs
Partial Hospitalization Program
Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) operates Monday through Friday from 10am to 3pm and is designed to treat adults needing an intense level of structured therapy while avoiding the cost of inpatient care. This program offers an appropriate transition for patients who recently completed treatment at an inpatient level of care. Our PHP is also suitable for patients who are currently receiving outpatient therapy, but who would benefit from short-term intensive therapy. The program provides a structured schedule of four hours of group therapy every day. In addition to group therapy, PHP treatment includes weekly meetings with the psychiatrist, nurse, and an individual therapist. This program is divided into two distinct groups—the psychiatric group, and the dual diagnosis group. Patients are placed in the group that best suits their needs. Further descriptions of the two groups are as follows:
The Psychiatric Group treats a variety of mental health issues and psychological disorders, including:
- Anxiety Disorders such as anxiety, panic, and obsessive-compulsive disorders
- Mood Disorders such as depression
- Bipolar disorder
- Posttraumatic Stress Disorder
The Dual Diagnosis Group treats co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders. Substance abuse disorders that are addressed include:
- Alcohol abuse
- Pain medication abuse
- Prescription drug abuse
- Abuse of recreational drugs including cocaine, marijuana, crystal meth, etc.
Additional program tracks are available for PHP patients who need to work on the following issues:
- The Eating Disorder Track includes treatment for Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and overeating. This track is 12-step based, and includes a weekly group lunch, didactic and process groups, body image work, and creation of individual food plans. Weekly support from a dietician is available for patients on this track.
- The Trauma Recovery Track is for addressing and resolving traumatic events impacting a patient’s well-being. The Trauma Recovery track will include addressing, but not limited to sexual trauma. Participants will receive psychoeducation on how trauma relates to maladaptive behaviors, anxiety, and depression. This group focuses on healing through the development of healthy coping skills to manage triggers, depression, anxiety, and self-harm behaviors.
Note: These program tracks supplement the standard PHP treatment schedule.
